EMOTIONS
PRIMARY EMOTIONS
Just as red, blue, and yellow are the primary colors, our emotional world is built on eight primary emotions:
Happiness Sadness,
Anger Fear
Disgust Acceptance,
Surprise Anticipation.
BIG EMOTIONS
In painting, secondary colors are created by mixing two primary colors:
-
Red and Blue make Purple
-
Red and Yellow makes Orange
-
Blue and Yellow make Green.
Our emotions can work in similar ways. When two primary emotions come togehter they create a secondary emotions.
-
Fear and Anticipation can lead to Anxiety.
When three emotions combine, they can give rise to more complex emotions.
-
Sadness, Fear and Anticipation could lead to Worry.
BIG EMOTIONS
Big emotions are powerful messages that may require more time, space, and support to understand. Big emotions, such anxiety, shame, guilt, aren't bad. The problem can arise when an emotion becomes so intense that it overwhelms us and makes it difficult for us to regulate what we think, say, or do.
